Google Pay is one of the easiest and most reliable sources of online payment these days. Unlike other digital payment methods, Google Pay does not require any KYC to be done or money separately added in its wallet. So the entire concern of receiving money in wallets and then transferring it into the bank account has been eliminated.

You can simply add your bank account and make or receive payments directly. The best part is; the app even allows you to add multiple bank accounts-- you can add multiple bank accounts and use all bank accounts for money transfer and payment.

But keep in mind that you must own a Debit/Credit card from a bank that supports BHIM UPI. Here is the step-by-step guide you can follow to add and use multiple bank accounts in Google Pay.

Google pay: How to add a bank account

You can add two or more bank accounts in Google Pay when your bank-registered mobile number is the same. If the registered mobile number is different in both bank accounts, then you cannot add both accounts in Google Pay.

To prevent errors, do not leave the Google Pay app during bank registration. Follow the below-given steps to add a bank account on Google pay:

  • Check to make sure that your bank works with UPI. If it doesn't, your bank account won't work with Google Pay.
  • First, open Google Pay on your device.
Note: Make sure that you're using the latest version of the app. If you're not sure, try to update the app.
  • In the top left, tap your Photo
  • On the new page tap Bank account>Add bank account
  • Now, from the given list, choose your bank
Note: If you don't see your bank, it means that it doesn't work with Google Pay yet.
  • Next, you might need to give Google Pay permission to send a verification SMS to your bank.
  • If you have an existing UPI PIN, you'll be asked to enter it. If you don't remember your PIN, tap Forgot PIN and follow the instructions given on the screen to add an account. However, if you don't have a UPI PIN, enter your debit card information.

While adding a card keep in mind that Maestro debit cards do not have expiry dates. As per the official website," to add a Maestro debit card, use 01/49 as the expiry date."

Once your secondary bank account is added successfully, you can set them as the default to receive or send money. You can even reset or change UPI PIN, view balance, change UPI ID and also remove bank account.
